Mark Bender, a former CAS3 Instructor and War College
graduate, has been published by the Combat Studies Institute. His study on how Eisenhower succeeded in graduating first in
his class at Command and Staff College landed him a gig as a subject matter expert on A&E’s Biography.
“I consider
myself a student of high performance,” says Bender, “what Eisenhower accomplished was phenomenal, but few people realize the
pivotal role sports played early in his career. Ike was a perfect example of the soldier-athlete, one who parlayed that experience
as an educator at Columbia University and later as President of the United States.”
